Booking Terms & Conditions

Absolute Adventures is the trading name of Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd a professional, fully insured company; endorsed, inspected and regulated by Ports of Jersey authorities and Visit Jersey.

General T&Cs:

Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd and its instructors take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their participants; by giving your consent to take part you acknowledge that by their very nature adventure activities may carry some minor risk of injury. Any hazards will be fully explained and participants must follow all instruction, you will be responsible for your own and, if booking for a group, your groups action and behaviour.

All participants must inform Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd of any medical issues or special needs that may impact on the safety of themselves or their group. While we endeavour to be an inclusive company, Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd reserves the right to decline an individual from taking part in activities if their medical/ health issues would increase the risk of harm during the activity.

You must also inform Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd of any medical issue that may arise between booking and the activity commencing. Failure to do so may result in the activity being cancelled and deposit forfeited.

We advise that participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol should not take part in water activities or climbing/abseiling.  Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd reserves the right to exclude any participant for safety reasons at any time.

Photographs will be taken during activities sessions for promotional material and on our website. If you do not wish for photos to be used for this purpose please let the activity leader know as soon as possible.

Booking Details:

Please note:

A booking will not be considered final until full payment is received, unless a delay in your payment has been agreed.

The lead person on any booking (private or general) must be at least 16 years old.

You must provide us with a valid mobile phone number with every booking. Bookings made via our website also require a valid email address.

Your details will be used in order for us to contact you in the event of any changes to your trip.

We cannot not be held liable if you incorrectly input details causing you to miss a trip.

Payment for scheduled adventures/ public tours

Bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking. If you booked online and did not receive a booking confirmation email after payment it is likely that your details have been submitted incorrectly, please contact us via email to check.

Payment for private bookings

During our high season (May - September) all private bookings will not be considered final until full payment has been received unless otherwise agreed via email.

Outside of high season, a 25% deposit for private bookings will secure the booking. The remaining 75% is then due one week (7 days) before your booked adventure.

Once we have received payment and your group details we will confirm with you via email with a booking confirmation.

Your booking will not be secured until you have received a booking confirmation email from us.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation policy - how it works?

We reserve the right to implement the cancellation policy as detailed below. For the purpose of our cancellation policy we define “days in advance” in the following way:

If you booked an adventure to take place on the 11th July cancelling 10 days or more in advance would involve you cancelling on or before the 1st July.

Cancelling 9 to 4 day in advance would mean you cancel on or between the 2nd and 7th July.

Cancelling with 3 or less days notice would mean you cancel on or after the 8th July.

Cancellation by us:

Surf and Sun Watersports Ltd reserves the right to cancel any session where conditions prevent safe participation or where insufficient bookings make the session un-viable.

We also reserve the right to cancel or alter a trip if; 

  • We have encountered staffing, logistical or technical issues

  • We have been confronted with circumstances that are beyond our control 

We will endeavour to contact you as quickly as possible once a decision has been made.

If we make the decision to cancel a booking, you will be offered the chance to rebook or have a full refund. Refunds will be issued in line with how you paid. If you booked online it will be refunded via paypal. If you paid with a gift voucher, the voucher will be reissued and extended for a further 12 months. Card and cash payments can either be refunded as paid, or refunded via bank transfer.

Cancellation by you for public tours and adventures:

If you cancel your booked tour 10 or more full days in advance you’ll be given the option to rebook or receive a full refund.

If you cancel your booked adventure 9 to 4 full days in advance you’ll be given the option to rebook or you can receive a credit note for the full amount that will be valid for 12 months.

If you cancel you booked adventure 3 full days ahead of the tour or less, you will not be given the option to rebook and you will not receive a refund.

Cancellation by you for private adventures:

If you cancel your private adventure 10 or more full days in advance you’ll be given the option to rebook or receive a refund.

If you cancel your booked adventure 9 to 6 full days in advance you’ll be given the option to rebook or you can receive a credit note for the full amount that will be valid for 12 months.

If you cancel you booked adventure 5 days ahead of the tour or less you will not be given the option to rebook and you will not receive a refund.

Cancellation by you for adventure camps:

Adventure camps are very popular and we have limited space. Please only book if you are sure your child can attend.

There is a £50 administration fee for any cancelations or changes to bookings.

Bookings are non refundable within 1 month of the camp start date. Cancelations before one month will be refunded, minus the £50 administration fee.

Cancellation by you for adventure days & activity weeks:

Due to the staffing commitment, equipment reservations and admin work that goes into planning and booking activity weeks and adventure days, we require 28 days notice in order for you to cancel your booking with us and not be charged.

If you cancel your activity week/ adventure days booking 27 to 14 days ahead of your booking, you’ll be charged 25% of your booking.

If you cancel your activity week/ adventure days with less than 14 days notice, you will be charged the full amount and no refund or credit note will be offered.

Please be aware we typically need at least 14 days notice to try and accommodate a change in numbers for your group and due to the staffing commitment required for school bookings we are unable to issue refunds for last minute changes in numbers including on the day no shows.

Here’s a link to the acceptance of risk form you’ll sign at the beach ahead of your session. If you’re booked in as a youth, school or private group any children under 18 will need to have their parents/ guardians sign this form ahead of the booking.
