The Adventure Guide Academy
The Adventure Guide Academy prepares you to lead outdoor activities with confidence through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience. The 6 week course covers topics such as risk management, group management, outdoor first aid, and outdoor leadership. You will also learn about the specific skills required for different outdoor activities such as kayaking and coasteering.
Certificates included in the academy: Safeguarding award, DBS check, 2 Day Outdoor First aid certificate, SLSGB Surf Coach Rescue Award, BCU paddle sport leader training, BCU Coastal Navigation, BCU SUP safer award.

Surf Coach Rescue Award
The SLSGB Surf coach rescue is applicable to those undertaking surf coaching and instruction activity and for surfboard hiring organisations. It aims to establish a minimum vocational standard that demonstrates a level of competence for the safety of participants under instruction during a coached surf activity session undertaken in primarily wading depth water and to establish the necessary skills and knowledge to provide basic rescue response and life support. Holders of this award should take careful account of local conditions where they are coaching and the scope of the activity and the guidance provided by local risk assessments and a location specific SOP.

Paddlesport Leader Award
The Paddlesport Leader Award is open to all paddlers! The award supports your existing skills and enables you to lead fun, safe and enjoyable trips.
This award is used by clubs, outdoor centres and organisations to support their activity delivery on mixed craft.
Paddle Sport Leader training is a 2 days course that gets you on the pathway for assessment.

SUP Safer Course
The SUP Safer course is the perfect option if you’re relatively new to paddle boarding and want to be more aware of your personal safety and are keen to improve your basic skills and knowledge so you can be more confident out on the water.
The 4 hour course will provide you with practical solutions to difficulties you may face if you get into trouble on the water, and it also teaches you what to consider when choosing where to paddle, when to go out on the water and what equipment to use.
